Focus 2018: Film London – Shooting the Capital11th December 2018
Earlier this month Eddie Standish, co-founder of Locate Productions, took part in a panel organised by Film London as part of the TLG Focus event. Focus is an event aimed at all the creative screen industries – including film, TV, advertising, animation and interactive – and is the only UK trade event where attendees can meet with content makers, film commissions, production services and locations providers from over 60 countries.
Now in its fourth year, this year’s event addressed the key opportunities and challenges concerning the production industry today and saw over 2000 people attend across 2 days.
Michelle Jenkins, Head of Production Services at Film London, invited Eddie to speak on a panel to a packed out room focussing on how Film London are working to keep London filming. The session included discussion around their film-friendly initiatives, such as the London Filming Partnership, which led to key infrastructural changes in the way filming is managed in the capital. The panel then looked towards the future and asked what one of the busiest cities in the world needs to do to remain popular with all types of production.
Other speakers included:
James Waller, Grid Project Lead, Film London
Alex Gladstone, Location Manager
Joanna Burnaby-Atkins, Film Liaison Manager, City of London
Felicity Jump, Senior Commercial Filming Manager, Network Rail
