Marking the Equinox

The Equinox is coming up, and we think it deserves a bit of a celebration.
It’s the time of year when day and night are almost exactly the same length, a natural marker between summer and autumn. So we’re heading into the South Downs to say goodbye to summer, welcome the autumn vibes and spend a day outside with good people.
We’ll start with a morning of Scrub Bashing with Sussex Wildlife Trust at Malling Down Nature Reserve, which involves the removal of invasive species allowing the chalk downland to thrive. Then we'll have a seasonal Sussex picnic, followed by a photographic walk with Luke Spencer through the South Downs National Park. We’ll finish the afternoon at the Trevor Arms in Glynde, to round up the day.
The Day - Thursday 24th September
10:00 : Scrub Bashing at Malling Down Nature Reserve, Lewes
13:00 : Seasonal Sussex picnic
14:00 : Photographic walk with Luke Spencer
16:00 : Arrive at the Trevor Arms, Glynde
