A Day in Nature Rewilding Sussex

Tree Planting 169 Green

Would you like to spend a day outdoors planting trees, learning about rewilding and playing a meaningful part in nature recovery in Sussex?

On Friday 13th March, we’re hosting our next Day in Nature at Westerlands Farm, set within the South Downs National Park near Pulborough. The day brings together creatives, businesses and environmental partners to support long-term rewilding efforts in the region.

This event is part of a collaboration between three 1% for the Planet members, offering a glimpse of how the creative industries can help fund and support nature recovery at scale. Through our optional 1% contribution, funds are directed to Forests Without Frontiers, the Brighton-based charity sourcing the trees and overseeing their planting and ongoing care.

The site itself is part of the Weald to Waves network, one of the Knepp Wildland Foundation projects, working to create a continuous nature recovery corridor from the High Weald to the Sussex coast.

On the day, around 50 volunteers will come together to plant approximately 1,000 trees, hear from people working on the ground in Sussex, and spend time connecting with nature and with each other. There'll also be live folk music by Jack Hodgson. We’ll provide food, help with transport and logistics and document the day so the wider story can be shared.

If you’d like to get involved, whether as an individual or with a team, we’d love to have you. Accessibility at this site is good and all you need to bring is a pair of gloves and a spade if you have one.

Suggested donations to support Forests Without Frontiers’ work in Sussex (optional, cost shouldn’t be a barrier)
