Urban wilderness: Samuel Hicks’ vision of nature reclaiming the city

Samuel Hicks’ series, Wilding, brings a fresh perspective to rewilding. Providing location management services we sourced a mix of ideal locations around east London, ranging from barren wasteland to an industrial warehouse, where nature mingles with city grit. Inspired by the idea of creating a personal wild space, Hicks blends artificial and real flowers to evoke the resurgence of nature in unexpected urban settings.

Recognised by the IPA Awards, Archive Magazine’s ‘Best 200 Photographers,’ and awarded Silver at the AOP Awards 2024 - which made it into the national press the following day - Wilding is a striking celebration of rewilding in the heart of the city.
